Homemade bread requires effort and time, but it rewards you with its incomparable taste and the unique aroma that fills the house as it bakes.

The special feature of this recipe is the added oat flakes and psyllium.

Psyllium has a strong protective effect on the gastrointestinal system. It is used for irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, hypercholesterolemia, and obesity.

It is perfect for your breakfast with peanut butter, to make delicious sandwiches, or even to accompany your meal.

1. Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups oat flour

  • 1 tbsp psyllium

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup yogurt

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 eggs

  • ¼ cup honey

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup oat flakes (not ground)

2. Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients (oat flour, psyllium, baking powder, baking soda, salt), leaving the 1 cup of whole oat flakes for the end, and mix them together.

  2. In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients (yogurt, milk, eggs, oil, honey) and mix.

  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and stir. Add the 1 cup of oat flakes (not ground) and mix well to combine the ingredients.

  4. Grease a 20cm x 10cm loaf pan and pour the mixture in. If you like, sprinkle some oats on top. Bake in a preheated oven for about 50 to 55 minutes.

  5. Check with a toothpick to see if it comes out dry. During baking, if necessary, cover with aluminum foil if it has started to brown too much.

  6. Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
